The brief
Elektro Thome installs photovoltaic systems, storage, wallboxes and electrical systems for private and commercial buildings in Saarland. The site had to explain a technical offer in terms a homeowner understands, while still speaking to commercial clients.
Visit the live siteWhat it had to solve
- Two audiences with different questions, households weighing up a first solar installation and businesses planning larger work.
- The offer involves technical decisions, such as whether storage belongs in a system, that customers ask about before they enquire.
- Enquiries are more useful when they arrive with the location, building type and a description of the work.
- The business serves a defined region and needed to set that expectation before someone got in touch.
How it was carried out
The phases the project moved through, in order.
Structure around the offer
Mapped the services, covering photovoltaic, storage, wallboxes and electrical installation, then split the site so a homeowner and a commercial client each have a clear path from the first screen.
Explain the project sequence
Set out how a project actually runs, from enquiry through assessment to installation, so a visitor knows what happens after they make contact.
Answer questions before the form
Built a questions section covering the things customers ask first, including what details help with an initial enquiry and whether storage is always part of a system.
Enquiry route and coverage
A project enquiry route that asks for location, building type and a short description, alongside a clear statement of the region served.
Testing and launch
Checked the site and its forms across phone and desktop before launch, then handed over the pages the team maintains themselves.
What the business ended up with
- Separate paths for residential and commercial clients
- Service pages in plain language
- Project sequence explained before the enquiry
- Questions section covering common concerns
- Enquiry route that collects usable detail
- Stated coverage area
Pages from the site

How it was built
- Next.js and React
- The same framework used across the studio's work, so the site can be extended later without starting again.
- Static delivery
- Every page is built ahead of the visit and delivered as a finished file.
- German
- Written and maintained in German for the region the business serves.
- No third party tracking
- No scripts, fonts or tracking are loaded from another domain.
Measured performance
The delivered website was measured with PageSpeed Insights on desktop and mobile. These are Lighthouse lab results from a simulated environment on the date shown, not field data from real visitors.
| Measure | Desktop | Mobile |
|---|---|---|
| Performance score | 100 | 95 |
| Accessibility score | 100 | 100 |
| Best Practices score | 100 | 100 |
| SEO score | 100 | 100 |
| First Contentful Paint (FCP) | 0.3 s | 1.0 s |
| Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | 0.5 s | 2.3 s |
| Total Blocking Time (TBT) | 40 ms | 50 ms |
| Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) | 0 | 0 |
| Speed Index (SI) | 0.5 s | 4.8 s |
Lab results vary between runs as network conditions, processing and page resources change. A capture describes that run, not a fixed property of the website.
They do not predict search positions, enquiry volume or any other business outcome.
Both runs recorded no layout shift. The mobile Speed Index was the one measure that fell outside the fastest band.
